The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) is a professional, non-profit international organization that aims to advance technology, in general; and electrical and computer engineering, in particular, around the world. It now has more than 400,000 members in 160 countries, the highest number of members in professional organizations in electrical engineering.

In the universities worldwide, the criterion for comparing the very leading universities in electrical and computer engineering is the number of people with this degree in those universities. It is worth mentioning that currently in Iran only 4 people have achieved this grade, one of whom was Dr. Golestani, a former professor at Isfahan University of Technology.

Other people who have achieved this position in Iran are:

– Dr. Jamaloddin Golestani, a former professor of Isfahan University of Technology and assistant professor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology; 2000

– Professor Homayoun Hashemi, a former professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology; 2003

– Professor Javad Salehi, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology; 2011

– Professor Mahmoud Fotouhi Firoozabad, Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Sharif University of Technology; Year 2014
